Rain Rain, the morning was wet. Forecast says it is going to rain the whole day. So upon checking out, we proceeded in the wet to the train station. At least it was dry there to catch the train to Rome. 2 hours later we are in Rome again. Still raining, just like when we left earlier in the week. Lucky the hotel is a short distance from the Metro Stop, Baberini. Do note that the metro ticket machine does not have much change, so keep some coins. €1.50/- per ride. Then the stations have a short flight of steps, so careful on the luggage.
Nothing exciting happened during this time, just the regular lunch (nothing spectacular) and check-in. Tried to wait out the rain but is still pouring, so no choice but to go out in the wet. The short walk to Trevi Fountain was bad enough for me, despite being "rain-proof" the jeans is getting wet, the face is being splashed with water. I had no choice but to buy an umbrella, €5/-. Even in the rain the Trevi Fountain is packed. Threw our coins into the fountain and will see if we come back again..

Wanted to go directly to the Spanish Steps, but ended up walking in one big circle. Got the orientation wrong, walked all the way from via corso to Piazza Del Popolo, Oh the gateway in olden days to Rome. Egyptian Obelisk (one of the many) is in the centre of this large piazza. Finally got my bearings and proceeded down to the Spanish Steps.

The Spanish Steps, must be over-rated (Sorry but that is our point of view). They are just large staircase, though if you climb to the top, there is a church but never did. Around the corner is a Mcdonalds. Wanted to grab a burger but fast-food is not really fast. Ended up having Chinese food near our hotel. It was so-so anyways.

During this period, my knee was swelling and limiting my walking, no choice but to return back to the hotel. Colosseum Tour is the next day.
