Finally a day we could wake up late. Well sort off, still have 1 more place to visit before going on to Pisa. That was the Bargello Museum. A museum of sculptures by both Donatello and Michelangelo. It is a rather small place actually, consisting of a chapel, some artifacts and the sculptures. Donatello's David is on the second floor. I find him rather small.. I wonder why. Then you get Michelangelo's Bacchus and Florence over Pisa on the first floor under the old staircase. A guidebook is good to have to explain the sculptures.

So grabbing food on the go, it is off to the train to purchase tickets to Pisa, €15.60/- (return), €7.80/- (one-way). We suggest getting the return tickets, as these are regional trains, you can use it anytime. The train station in Pisa is full of gypsy people, buying tickets will be interrupted by them. Free seating in the train, and about 1 hour later, finally in Pisa. Remember to validate your tickets.

To get to the Leaning Tower of Pisa, just follow the signs or the crowd. It is a nice walk thru the streets of Pisa. A slightly sort of more relaxing feel, less people around too. As for the walk, it would take about 30 mins or 35 to finally see the tower. Actually you dont really get to see the tower till you get within a few hundred meters from it.

It was much lower and smaller than in pictures. We didnt climb the tower as the weather is all grey and dull. So time is spend looking and wandering around the Fields of Miracle, watching people trying to prop up the tower.

Then we pop into the adjacent cathedral. Not bad, quite impressive. There are some tombs on the right side of the cathedral worth a look.

Once done, then is back to Florence again. This is to be the last day, so back to the Duomo area for one last look. Had a good dinner and off to bed. Going to Rome the next day.
