Day 2
Left the hotel early and collected our Transport Pass for 48 hours (cost €30/-). 1 trip is €7/- each. So the pass is of great value. So we catch the number 2 vaperetto down to St Marks. Guess what, it ends at Rialto, oops so we grab the next one down instead. Do keep a lookout on where the vaperetto goes and sometimes due to tides, they are not able to travel as well. Anyway do remember to get a spot in the front sitting or standing or at the back for views of the canal.

Arriving at St Marks, we are greeted with alot of people. And of course the moored Gondolas. Further up we have the Doges Palace and St Marks Basilica along with the Clock Tower and the Other Tower. The square is very surreal, just like out of the postcard. We took a tour of the Basilica and Palace. I do say, the Basilica is impressive so is the Palace. And we have a pleasant surprise install. Acqua Alta!

Don't think we can get anything luckier than that, it would be at its highest in mid-afternoon which we did not bother to stay and find out. So we went on with our tour learning about the history of the place.

Lunch was some where in the Rialto area, and because there is high tide. We decided to visit some churches and use the transport pass to good effect.
Squid Ink Pasta for Lunch. Yummy
About meals, we normally just order pasta, pizza or their second courses with a drink. Don't think the stomach could take in so much food in one go.
One of the churches that we visited was the Santa Maria Salute, it is at the Salute stop which is infront of the church. It is a large impressive church. Though it is more impressive from afar. There is not much on the inside, there is a paid section of the church that we did not go too.

So catching the Vaperetto, we proceeded to another church. This time on an island off St Mark's, San Giorgio Maggiore. To get there you need to take the number 2 Vaperetto over, 1 stop only. It consist of a church with a tower. The church is quite dark, never did really see the place. Was there for the tower, there is a lift up and cost €5/-. You get a 360 view of it. Something different.

That is it for sightseeing for the day. Till Day 3. Dinner was not exciting.
